Gonzales Cobblo was born in Mexico City in 1969. He is the younger of two brothers, both of whom have a passion.
Carlos was a great cyclist.
Gonzales – a wrestler.
Carlos Cobblo, the elder brother, tragically lost his life while competing in an uphill, cobbled street, bicycle time trial. He was 20ft from the finish line when he collapsed with sheer knackeredness.
Gonzales Cobblo – soon to become the great ‘El Cobblo’ decided that he would continue his brother’s mission, to become the best Mexican, cobbled hill time trial rider in the world. His mission has brought him to Frome and the second Frome Cobble Wobble to be held on Catherine Hill. Here he will try and do the one thing his brother was so close to achieving – conquer the cobbles and make his brother proud. Dressed as a wrestler.
Look out for El Cobblo and offer your support – his journey is a long one, his mission, a passionate one. Cheer – if not for El Cobblo, for his brother, Carlos.
Adios Amigos.
